34 Watching marine life underwater is amazing. The shallow area of the ocean (less then twenty feet deep) has more marine life, light, and color than any other part of the ocean. And I think nothing beats a glass bottom boat for getting up close and personal with Maui's sea critters, and taking a peek into their natural habitat where everything seems to be occurring in slow motion. You don't even have to get wet to experience them! Amazing coral formations (yes, they're considered sea creatures), urchins, starfish, turtles, schools of brightly colored fish, and even octopus make Maui their home. There's something truly magical about going underwater and being dazzled by the beauty of the shallow reefs, and it's one thing that will make your vacation even more special. Rob i n S p ee d ie Gls Bottom Ocean Views Stay dry & see what's under the sea. Robin Speedie has been sharing his underwater world with visitors since 1991. He is the owner of the Reefdancer Glass Bottom Boat, which conducts underwater tours daily. For more info on exploring Maui's reefs, call Reefdancer at (808) 667-2133, or check out MauiGlassBottomBoat.com. It's common to see octopuses (he'e) in Maui. Interesting fact:: To me Maui is the perfect blend of everything that I love. The year round summer weather, the magical places like Haleakala and the bamboo forests, the fact that I can walk most places and even do my job barefoot. It's a slower pace of life here, and the Aloha Spirit infuses everything. Being connected to nature - beautiful scenery , the ocean, rainbows & volcanos - puts life in true perspective. I'm so grateful to live here. Sunny Weather Playing outside with my sweet dog.
