A few years later I had the idea of approaching my favorite restaurants, activities and stores, and handing out their information to visitors arriving to Maui. Because the airport rules at that time disallowed this, I had to work hard to fight for what I wanted to do - a battle well known to entrepreneurs. About a year later, because the First Amendment provides for freedom of speech and information, they allowed me to start my business. That was over 20 years ago, and today this magazine embodies my dream - it features my favorite things to do, along with those things many other locals love about Maui too.
