The town of Paia at the base of Haleakala volcano is one place you won't want to miss on the road to Hana. Originally a plantation town, with over 20% of the island living there in the early 1900s, Paia has a relaxed vibe with people who exemplify the spirit of Aloha. Just up the road is the Holy Rosary Church with a great St. Damien memorial sculpture. Be sure to spend some time here! BALDWIN AVE.
