You'll have to do some searching (try looking on Google first). For those determined enough to find them, try this. STEP ONE: Go to Longs Drugs or Ben Franklin's and purchase large sheets of tracing paper, charcoal, drawing pencils & crayons. STEP TWO: Find the rubbing spot. Famous places to rub are the Olowalu Petroglyphs, historic plaques throughout Maui, and famous signs around the island. Any item with varied depths can be used to make a rubbing. STEP THREE: Hold the tracing paper over item to be rubbed. STEP FOUR: Rub over the entire paper with the side of the sharpened end of a pencil, a peeled crayon, or charcoal. STEP FIVE: Roll your paper up carefully so you don't crease it or smudge the tracing. To preserve charcoal rubbings spray with hairspray or sealant. 4 3 2 1 5 HELPFUL TIP: Be respectful of signs located on private property and please ask the owner for permission first.
