Cool Cat Cafe & Captain Jack's Island Grill When you visit Old Lahina Town make sure to visit the Wharf Cinema Centre on Front Street. It has an abundance of cool boutiques and great eateries. Two of the top places to dine happen to be sister restaurants, and though they may be related they both carry their own style and panache. Cool Cat Cafe is a 50s time-warp café which offers the finest selection of burgers and shakes on the island. In fact they have been voted "Best Burger on Maui" more than a dozen times in a row by an independent magazine. It doesn't end there however steaks, salads and sandwiches complete the menu and entertainment is all around with an arcade (including air hockey!) and live music in the evening. There's never a dull moment at Cool Cat Cafe, especially with the daily drinks specials and Happy Hour. Across the landing is the famous Captain Jack's Island Grill which carries itself accordingly with the name. Offering some of the best drink deals on Front Street, and an extra long Happy Hour from 2pm to 5pm, Captain Jack's Island Grill has live music Thursday to Sunday, and live sports always on the large multi-screen TV's. Carrying a vibrant food menu with favorites like the Loco Moco and their Fish N Chips (voted best on Maui 2016), or try their Gangway Tacos and wash them down with Mai Tai's or Blue Hawaiian's done the authentic pirate way! In short, both Cool Cat Cafe and Captain Jack's Island Grill offer a great view of the ocean, the world famous Banyan Tree and Front Street, and both will offer you a really great time in their own unique way. 95 Maui Island Guide & Driving Magazine • MauiDrivingMagazine.com REVIEWS Restaurants & Sweeteries DINING SEE MAP on page 108:B2 Beach Bums Some of the most spectacular beaches, coves and scenery on the West Side are further north than Lahaina.
