Molokini Snorkel & Dive Adventures Voted the most popular and fun boat trip by both locals and visitors you don't want to miss it! You're guaranteed to see marine life and have a blast on this adventure. These cruises are perfect for just about anyone, no matter what your age, swimming experience, or physical condition. Morning trips usually depart around 6:30am or 7:00am, last about five hours, and offer breakfast, lunch, drinks, and snacks with most including two snorkel spots. Some boats offer optional scuba or SNUBA (scuba without tanks), hot BBQ lunch, ocean trampolines, slides, fresh water showers, snorkel instruction, boogie boards, wetsuits, and more. The AM trip costs more than the afternoon trip, but it also offers more. However, if waking up at 6:00am for a snorkel cruise is too early, you should try the 1:00pm trip. The afternoon trip usually goes to Molokini or Coral Gardens and offers most of the same perks as the morning trip, and lasts about 3 1 /2 hours. Either way, we definitely recommend this trip! (See our favorite boats on the right of this page). Whale, Dolphin & Turtle Watching Adventures Exploring Maui's diverse and amazing sea life is one of the most popular and exciting things to do on Maui. And the best way to get out on the water and see it all is with an ocean adventure cruise. Our priceless and protected eco-reserves are abundant with huge schools of spinner dolphins, green sea turtles, whales, and hundreds of the most exotic tropical fish in the world over 20% of which can only be found in Hawaii! Humpback whales migrate to the Hawaiian Islands each year after a 3,000 mile journey from Alaska. Those lucky enough to be visiting Maui during the primary whale watching season from December through April are in for an amazing treat don't miss out on these guided cruises. If you're not here during whale season don't fret, there are plenty of dolphins, turtles and tropical fish in the waters around Maui year-round. Although there are several types of dolphins, the spinner dolphins are most common and known for the spectacular shows they put on. Their name comes from their habit of leaping into the air and spinning several times on their tails before splashing back into the water. Dolphin tours by boat are the best way to see the spinners in action! The waters surrounding Maui and Lanai are also a haven for green sea turtles, often seen swimming lazily near the shore. Turtle tours will take you to places like "Turtle Town" or one of the many turtle cleaning stations along the south and west shores of Maui and Lanai's 7-mile barrier coral reef. These stations are often found near coral heads abundant two number Departing West Maui Atlantis Submarine Dive Deep Down 667-7943 Captain Steve's Rafting to Lanai & Whale Watches 667-5565 Captain Woody's Private Charters 667-2290 Kaulana Lanai Snorkels 667-6165 Lahaina Princess Molokini Snorkels 667-6165 Makai Adventures Private Charters, Bottom Fishing & Whale Watches 495-1001 Maui Adventure Cruises Rafting to Lanai Snorkels & Whale Watches 661-5550 Maui Princess Dinner Cruises & Whale Watches 667-6165 Reefdancer Semi- Submersible Dive Show Adventures 667-2133 (continued on page 26) three number Awesome Ocean Adventure Cruises (Please dial 808 before each #) Scotch Mist Sailing & Cocktail Cruises 661-0386 Departing Maalaea Aqua Adventures Molokini Snorkels, Snuba 573-2104 Friendly Charters Molokini Snorkels, Snuba 244-1979 Malolo Molokini Snorkels, Whale Watches 856-4272 Calypso Molokini Snorkels Scuba, Snuba, Sunset & Dinner Cruises, Whale Watches 442-3264 Strike Zone Sport & Bottomfishing 879-4485 Departing South Maui Blue Water Rafting Molokini Snorkels & Whale Watches 879-7238 Xian Private Charters 891-2628 ACTIVITIES 22 Maui Island Guide & Driving Magazine • MauiDrivingMagazine.com MORE Things to do on Maui
