60 M i c ha e l M o ore I've had a long standing love affair with Maui culture. The Hawaiian legends, as expressed in hula and chants, are absolutely mesmerizing. Did you know there are more than 30 types of hula? My favorite is the kahiko, or ancient traditional hula, where the true culture of Hawaii is reflected in dance, music and words. Hawaii lies in the northern most point of the Polynesian triangle. Early Polynesians reached these shores by navigating the stars. As a result, Hawaii and Polynesia are deeply entwined.
