As a child, I had a few favorites. Frosted flakes. Root
beer floats. Red licorice. Although I still love my sweets, the
things I value most in life have definitely changed. These days
it's simple pleasures, like waking up healthy each morning.
Hearing the birds chirping and waves crashing as I rise to
do my morning yoga and exercise. Walking on the beach.
Knowing I've been a good daddy to my four wonderful kids.
Having an amazing wife whom I've adored for almost 40 years.
But back in 1990, while visiting Maui, this island became
my favorite place in the world. So, a year later I moved here and
ultimately started this magazine. My objective was to share
what locals love most about our
island. It's my sincere hope that you
enjoy reading about their favorites,
and while you're here, discover some
things that become your favorite too.
