It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway!
We are absolutely blessed, on a year-round basis
here on Maui, to be surrounded by incredible
ocean lifeforms.
Turtles, manta rays, octopuses, sharks, eagle rays,
monk seals, seven species of dolphin, and over
three hundred different types of fish all enjoy and
thrive in the beautiful waters of Hawaii.
And then, there's the humpback whale. As part
of the humpback whale migration, from late
fall to early spring, both residents and visitors
alike are treated to some of the most spectacular
displays of mammal behaviors seen anywhere
on the planet.
So, as you enjoy our island paradise, please be
respectful of the ocean and all of its inhabitants.
There is much we humans can do to reverse
the trends that are currently threatening ocean life
on earth.
If you take care of the ocean, the ocean takes care
of you.
