4 Maui Magazine • MauiMagazines.pub Editor in Chief James M. Quine I believe that the word aloha comes from the Hawaiian word "alo", meaning to share, and "ha", meaning the essence of life. at makes aloha more than a word; it's a way of living life. Since the Hawaiian word Ke'aloha means that love is all around, we see that aloha is really all about the sharing of love and life with others. We use it to say hello and goodbye to each other, making sure our first and last interactions underscore our appreciation of the opportunity to share life and love with each other. I live my life in the spirit of aloha every day, and as a result, I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams. May the spirit of aloha flow into you and stay with you wherever you go from here!
